The Table Tennis Minnesota league system is divided into four levels: Community, Competition, Elite, and Super.
Community Leagues are for novice through intermediate level players who are looking to have fun, learn new skills, and improve their games. Players compete on two-person teams and play two singles and one doubles match each week. A unique point-handicap system helps make every match competitive and challenging. Community Leagues are held in Bloomington, Fridley, and Plymouth and are convenient for most people living in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. As players advance to the top of their Community League they earn the opportunity to advance to the next level of play. Champion and runner-up trophies are awarded at the end of the year.
Competition Leagues are for experienced league and tournament players with a USATT rating between 1000 and 1400, or a point-handicap of (-3) or better. If you do not have a USATT rating or a point-handicap and have questions about whether you qualify for the Competition League, contact the Program Director at (952) 892-7078 to discuss which league would best suit your needs. Competition League matches are played without point-handicaps so it is important that all participants have the necessary skills to be competitive at the Competition level. Champion and runner-up trophies are awarded at the end of the year.
Elite Leagues are for experienced league and tournament players with a USATT rating between 1400 and 1800. The North division competes at the Northwest Athletic Club in Fridley and the South division competes at the Northwest Athletic Club in Bloomington. Fun, exciting, and challenging, Elite leagues offer participants the opportunity to battle for trophies and the right to move up to the Super League.
Super League is for Minnesota's best players. Players must have a USATT rating over 1800 to apply for a position in the Super League. Players compete for cash prizes.
